Dynamic motion analysis using wavelet flow surface images

چکیده
We have developed a motion analysis method that combines the wavelet transform with the ow surface image technique. In dynamic navigation environments, whenever objects move, the projections of the objects onto the image plane also move. These projections build over time spatiotemporal surfaces of their movement and volumes created by the surfaces. This paper presents a new method for the interpretation of optical ow for moving objects from a sequence of images. Flow surface images of the moving objects are created within the wavelet-derived space, chosen from seven diierent directionally sensitive detail images using the 3-D wavelet decomposition. The motion estimation algorithm concentrates on the integration of information from the ow surface images, followed by a quadratic patch parame-terization and determination of ow paths of the end points of edges on the ow surface images. The results of two experimental studies with an object exhibiting out-of-plane translation and rotation are also reported.

Oceanographic images obtained from environmental satellites by a wide range of sensors allow characterizing natural phenomena through different physical measurements. For instance Sea Surface Temperature (SST) images, altimetry data and ocean color data can be used for characterizing currents and vortex structures in the ocean. The purpose of this thesis is to derive a relatively complete frame...
متن کاملCoherent Image Processing using Quaternion Wavelets
We develop a quaternion wavelet transform (QWT) as a new multiscale analysis tool for geometric image features. The QWT is a near shift-invariant, tight frame representation whose coefficients sport a magnitude and three phase values, two of which are directly proportional to local image shifts. The QWT can be efficiently computed using a dual-tree filter bank and is based on a 2-D Hilbert tran...
متن کاملInfluences of temporal evolution of ground motion frequency content on developed dynamic ratcheting in SDOF systems
Dynamic Ratcheting (DR) is a nonlinear dynamic phenomenon occurring in hysteretic damping systems. It means the structural plastic deformation increases asymmetrically in successive cycles under an earthquake excitation. Although it is generally recognized that DR is closely related to the frequency contents of an earthquake excitation applied to thestructure, no targeted analysis has bee...
متن کاملEffect of the frequency content of earthquake excitation on damage detection in steel frames
In this study, the effect of earthquake frequency content and noise effects on damage detection has been investigated. For this purpose, the damage was defined as nonlinear behavior of beams and columns, and several ground motion records were scaled so that some elements yield under the applied excitation. Then the acceleration response data of each floor obtained using the nonlinear dynamic an...
